Military is exactly what I expected it to be. I look forward to what may be to come but I’ve reached the seven month mark and this current situation is getting a little stale. Especially being on a base drowning in dude & douche. But thank the christ! i’ve made some solid friends. In fact, they are basically the east coast doppelgangers for west coast clowns. And it’s really refreshing. Maybe I can get the two coasts together and they can fight to the death…for my amusement.

So I’ve shaken things up…bully for me. Of course, I miss the old, I crave the new. What’s next? Overseas invasion.

Is it weird that I listen to this thing almost every morning? No, I didn’t think so either. Whoever made this has a real ear.

I’m on my eighth day visiting the place that I lived in for over five years and I don’t miss this place at all. These people are good people. We have all of the same issues and goals in life (to some extent). It’s just this place. Driving around, seeing sights so familiar.  It’s an ugly place with air that is hard to breathe. Everything looks the same and the people all look miserable. I don’t believe that any one area can drag a person down or lead him to a life of underachievement and escapism by booze, but I think it can definitely make things worse. And this is one of those places. I hope that either these people find their niche in this area, or all of them can move out. Move on. And hopefully not in their parent’s basement.

In other news, I’m heading north to San Francisco for Halloween. I’m really excited to spend some time in a new city, making new friends, reconnecting with old. It should be a gay ole’ time.

I’ve been reading more. Made some real strides in the last year. It’s been good. It’s been hard. It’s been a bit dull. Things are moving up. Basically what I’m saying is that 13 months goes real God Damn Fast.

It was a damn boring job but I got to catch some good acts and make some money. But I missed Rainfest.

Well…fuck it.

On the way to a good summer. But seriously, there is a HUGE disconnect between concert go-ers and concert workers.  No one gets one another. And these guys were a nice big bag o’ dicks. And some hot girls.  And they ALL got drunk on $9 beers.  Jesus…

My favorite

Best thing I saw in Chicago was the Yousef Karsh exhibit. They were portraits that I’ve seen all over but seeing the originals had a real beauty to it. My actual favorite was the one of Kurt Vonnegut but I couldn’t find it and I think this one represented the exhibit better.

Probably a good thing.Never thought I’d see such an empty street in Chicago.

First thing I noticed upon arrival in Wenatchee:

just how quiet it is here.  So very quiet.  I can’t tell what I like more.  It was such a comfort to sleep with the windows open, shirt off, traffic in my ear (although never quite as much as that.) But the silence.  That shit gave me the chills.  And then I drove thirty miles on an empty road listening to Coast to Coast. It reminded me of the nights of driving combine, smoking way too much, and getting spooky with Art Bell.

The Man for his time and place

Going to try to catch a show at the Biograph. Maybe see some ghosts. Going to wreak all Chicago hate. The women here are beautiful. Champagne until I drown in post-recital joy. Pick a fight with Chicago native.  Eat less pizza. Find local beer.  This is ALL a bank Robbery.

Off and on I have a reoccurring day dream. Maybe it’s when I’m being a lazy fuck and watching shitty tv. Or when I’m on the internet reading people’s worthless posts (mine included). Anyway, it’s me, watching me. I walk into the frame of whatever I’m watching. I’m skulking around with a baseball bat. I sneak up behind whatever it is that I am hating so very much and just smashing. Today is no exception.

I’m working on this god damned website. I can’t find the right tools to pick one fucking color. And all I can think about is hate smashing this computer. And any computer person who tells me that reading CSS script is “easy”.

But then I watch this clip, walk away, and I’m just fine.

Music helps.

But seriously.

Computers WREAK ALL HATE.
